What’s the culmination of the young age of a rookie and the knowledge of a veteran? The end result is Byron “Lil’ Skypp” Horton, an independent music artist. Horton is based in the heart of the crossroads of America, Indianapolis, Indiana. SEA nominated deejay and local tastemaker DJ Panic says this about Horton, “Lil’ Skypp is a conscious emcee that combines the fundamental arts of story-telling and wordplay to create a unique vibe that encourages independent thinking among his listeners. He’s a very entertaining artist, providing music for the soul.” Writing songs in multiple genres ranging from Alternative Rock to R&B, Lil’ Skypp boldly manifests his versatility. Byron founded SycoPaff Productions to further satisfy his desire to be an all-around music mogul tuning his skills in music & video production and audio engineering.

Lil’ Skypp self-distributed his first official project Written & Directed which released on August 25, 2011. This project is labeled in its own genre of “Sophisticated Street Music”. All around the state of Indiana, posters and promotional flyers are taped to windows and in the hands of its citizens. Typography videos, fan videos, interviews, etc. have been done on behalf of this project. Naptown Roll Call on Written & Directed shows Lil’ Skypp’s genuine love for the Indianapolis Hip-Hop scene as he “shouts out” every artist in the city whose grind he noticed. Many Indianapolis artists and producers are featured on Lil’ Skypp’s current project. Byron states this on his EP “Unity, that’s the key to success. We’re losing ‘cause we’re too busy trying to see who’s the best.”
